About this Painting

This was such an interesting project. I was requested to do a painting of the “Heart Tree”, a local landmark in Johnson County, Indiana, along the Mauxferry Road at the intersection of County Road 500S. The tree had natural formation of a heart and was known and admired mainly by many local residents as a romantic landmark. Unfortunately, recently mother nature took half of the tree down during a storm, but a friend of mine, Shawn Daugerty, had previously taken a photo of it and allowed me to use it as helpful reference to do the painting.
